Indiana All-Region Jr. High Orchestra

Indiana All-Region Jr. High Orchestra

On Saturday November 20, the Indiana String Teachers Association sponsored the Indiana All-Region Honor Orchestra. This is a one-day string festival created to honor the hard work of central Indiana 6th- through 8th-grade orchestra students who have at least one year of experience.

Students participated in a day of intense rehearsals and competition, which lead to a final performance at Zionsville Community High School. Students were able to work with the Vivace Director Derek Reeves (Fort Wayne Philharmonic) and Allegro Orchestra Director Colleen Tan (Canterbury School, Fort Wayne) throughout the day. Students were also able to meet other string players from the central Indiana area and make lifelong connections through the power of music.

Avon had the privilege to honor eight students from AMS North, seven from AMS South, and three students from AIS East. Bravo to Kyle, Quinn, Lucas, Emerson, Jayden, Aidan, Sophia, Gwen, Sarah, Ariana, Adelaide, Lorelei, Francis, Lily, Adefolahan, Maya, Ruthwik, and Lillian.
