A Note from the Principal

Dan Peo

I began my career in education in 2006 as a band director in a small school. Since then, I have served students and families as a band director in Warren County, Indiana and Lafayette, Indiana. In 2018, I became the assistant principal at Wea Ridge Middle School that feeds into McCutcheon High School. I came to Avon in 2022 as one of the assistant principals at Avon High School. During my career, I have learned so much about the value of partnerships between educators and families as we help all of our students to belong, learn, and grow. I look forward to continuing the tradition of excellence at Avon Middle School South, to serving the fantastic educators and staff, and to building new relationships with the students and families at South.

My experiences as an assistant principal at Avon High School have truly shown me how amazing Avon is, and I am so excited to continue my leadership at Middle School South. Please feel free to reach out to me as I launch my leadership alongside a new team of building leaders including Ms. Orleta Holmes, assistant principal, Mrs. Gretchen Matthews, assistant principal, and Mr. Scott Adams, athletic director & dean of students. Let's make the 2024-25 school year a great one!
